I scanned a big print today to try to fix it up a bit and man, it was a pain to color balance this thing and I'm not entirely happy with it. Something still feels..off I guess. Maybe you all can help me out.

It was an 11x14 so it was too big for the scanner, so the first step was to scan 2 seperate pics and merge them much like a panoramic. Then I color balanced my booty off...or at least tried.

http://www.tngphoto.com/pics/lays.jpg I still had MANY layers to go. I probably made it harder than it was. :)

To my eye, it's still got a bit of a magenta cast in the mid-tones and shadows.

As far as technique goes, I wouldn't think you would need so many layers. There should be a simple way to get the color correction done. Unfortunately I'm now at work and unable to play around with this. I'll try to get to it this evening.

I thought so too until I got started. :)
