Just got back from my annual dirt bike vacation in Moab, Utah. About 40 members of the Honda Sport Touring Association went out and got dirty. Moab is home to some of the best dirt bike riding in the world.

All pictures captured with my Fuji S1 Pro, 70-300 ED lens for most of the action shots. I carried that great lump of a camera on my hip in a belt camera bag. It's a good thing I don't crash much. I took quite a few landscapes with it as well. I also used my 50mm 1.4 and the 24-50 zoom. The rest of the pix are in this gallery (http://stevelongphoto.smugmug.com/gallery/504978).

Don't crash, much? :uhoh :yikes

Nice pics :thumb :thumb

I'm amazed that you were riding with that much weight and $ hanging on your hip :scratch Not that breaking a camera or lens is such a big deal. But landing on that suckah would hurt bigtime......lol

Glad you and your cam survived :clap

Yeah, I didn't notice that until I got home and started looking at the pix. That dog was very aggressive, they were walking on the trail and the dog came running snarling and snapping at me. He put it on the string after catching up. Nice guy, but it's really a different attitude out there.

Last year I took my S7000 and got some good pictures, but I was really frustrated with the shutter lag so I decided to risk the S1. BTW, my Lowepro bag kept all the dust and water away from my camera, good stuff.

The Mormon Tabernacle Gun Club. :) Try to get more shots with them coming at you, rather than away from you. Might be hard, you'll have to climb higher. :) At least when they fall, they won't be tumbling at you!
