What does it mean when sigma says that a lens is meant for a APS-C sensor size...is that a crop or a FF sensor?
Thanks.

Sigma denotes a lens made for a digital slr with smaller than 35mm film format with a "DC" I guess it means digital camera or something like that. If you mount this on a full frame camera, the image circle that lands on the sensor may not cover all of the sensor area, giving you a vignetting type of an effect.

If Any lens mfg'er offers a lens in a non crop version that is the version to buy...just in case you decide to go full frame down the road...so with Sigma that should be their DG line and the best lenses from Sigma have the EX & IF notations.......

APS-C basically is referring to a size close to the APS negative that the film industry tried just before the end of film days.

Yeah, I am already FF...I was hoping to find a cool Fish Eye and maybe a wider 1.4 then my 50mm I have now...I love nikon, but boy do they need some more primes.

For Full frames, Sigma has a 8mm cirular fisheye or better yet a 15mm f2.8 fisheye. They also have an old series of fast wide primes 20/24/28mm f1.8.
I've had the 28mm and the 20mm version and find them excellent for the price.
