Hey everyone, just noticed the link on nikon's website (http://press.nikonusa.com/2008/09/nikon_celebrates_the_75th_anni.php) and DP review has it (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0809/08092201nikkor_50mm_1_4glens.asp) as well. Just wondering who else is excited that this has finally been updated.

Looks pretty sweet! I'm not a nikon user, but this looks like it will be a nice size for its wide aperture.

That's great. I bet it's just the start of more AF-S primes from Nikon. :clap (Hopefully more to come from Sigma as well.)

I am. I was looking at the Siggy 50 prime that just came out, but this one looks like it might actually be cheaper than 3rd party.

still no ED glass. the only real gripe i have with the previous generation 50mm f/1.4 is the CA (purple/blue fringing). hopefully they get it right with this new model somehow.

I like it but for that money I may get the 1.2.
