I hadn't seen an egret since last fall, and the place that I saw them was at
a pond on 3M's property. You may or may not know that 3M doesn't like
camera's on their land. I knew that they didn't allow cameras in the buildings,
but I thought the pond would be OK. Wrong. I took pictures of the geese, ducks
and egrets for a few minutes when security drove up and asked me if I worked
for 3M. I said no, but that I was a construction worker that had worked there
many times. They reminded me of the camera policy to which I said "I'll bet
you'd like me to leave." and his answer was "Yes we would." (2 guys in the car)
so I said OK, and they said have a nice evening.

I just wanted to put down that little story cause I've heard of so many where
the security guards or the photographers get hostile. Even though I was asked
to leave, I'm not angry about it. Those guys did their jobs, and I did what was
right, to leave without making a fuss.

Anyways, it was another cold damp grey day in Minnesota. I took about 100
pictures of geese, egrets, ducks, birds in flight, but my shutters speeds were
to slow, and only got a few keepers.
Here's the best one.

That's one angry egret. Is his daughter late getting home from a date?

how about a porta-potty?Thanks Jeff.

Well Andy, it's not a great pic of a porta-potty, but I feel the line makes the pic.
Taken during the winter carnival snow sculpture contest. Note King Kong
climbing the Empire State building in the lower left.
