Best lens for sports and indoor horse arena

I am thinking of buying a 70-200 2.8 lens. I spoke to a friend of mine who suggusted a 80-200 2.8 lens.

I take a lot of pictures of my daughter in indoor arena's (Horse Playdays) Which all have poor light, and out door sport pictures. I am looking for a good low light lens to get the shot.

Is there a differance in Sigma and Nikon?

Yes. They are both great lenses, but the Sigma is significantly less expensive.
