Found her eating a bee. She must have just caught it, because the bee was still moving around--until the head was gone :huh. Between trying to get close enough, and this darn Kansas wind, it was pretty hard to get a decent picture. I did stack a couple of images, which helped some. It was kind of cool watching her eat / devour the bee.

Good captures - pity you couldn't get more of a side angle to the mantis.

I was not able to get a side shot--where the mantis was in relation to the plant, I would have had to step on the plant, and also would have had to try to befriend a lot of bees. When she was done with her dinner, she got upset with me and turned around, and went into the plant. This is a great spot for feeding, so I will go back and see if I can get more pics.

Eating a Bee and keeping an eye on you at the same time :rofl
It's looking quite annoyed at you for interupting dinner time.
Wind just isn't your friend when your trying to do Macro unfortunately.
I would have liked to have seen some side shots too rather than all taken overhead.
Love the look on the Mantis's face :rofl .... Skippy :D

I had not seen one eating a bee before, either. It was very interesting to watch--morbid too, since the bee's head was being eaten while it was still alive :huh.
