So I have been driving by three spots all week that have had Great White Egrets (I think thats what they are) there everytime I drove by. Today I had my camera, I went to the spots, there was no egrets. So I kept driving around and found a small (crappy cause its in the middle of a construction area and is also right next to a road) wetland where I found.

This common guys swimming around. As much as I don't like canadian geese I liked this shot what do you guys think?

Also there was this bird. He hated me everytime I would move to try and get close he would fly to a different spot where I couldn't get a good close shot. However I did manage to get these two that I like. BTW I think this is a Heron, not sure what kind though anyone know?

What do you guys think. I think I did better on exposing the white egret this time around than when I was in florida.

Hey Gary,

Very good series of shots. Your IDs were correct that one was a Great Blue Heron and the other was the Great Egret. Your exposures on the egrets were improved over your Florida shots.

Not as interesting as it looks. What you didn't see with the egret was the gaurd rail that was behind me, the fence that ran in the middle of the wetland, the houses in back and to the left side or the fire station to the right. We have tons of wetlands and everything everywhere. The problem is everything is way to built up, no one cares about the enviroment so there is trash everywhere on the side of the road, and the places where it is good to shoot where most of the birds are, are hard as hell to get to. We have white plastic bags on the side of the road, in the grass, in the trees, everywhere, the way they have palm trees everywhere in florida. It is a nice area and I love being by the water everywhere, I just wish people cared more about the places around them here. But if you are ever up in michigan I will show you around.
