Hello all! It's been a really long time since I posted some pics here. Summer is a crazy time for me but I did manage to get some pics with my little waterproof Oly before it got lost at sea (long story short, lost it performing a water rescue at the beach).

Porkfish and various hard and soft coral

Goatfish

And now for the hawksbill. I try never to chase wildlife for close-ups, and certainly didn't chase this guy. I've never met such a curious sea turtle. He was coming right up and checking me out.

That reef was full of both goatfish and yellowtailed snapper which have similar coloration. You'd look around and see nothing but yellow...pretty cool. Thanks for commenting.

Awesome shots :clap I especially like the Goatfish and the last few Hawksbill shots. Just being that close to a Hawksbill would be a thrill for me! My one and only attempt at underwater photography was with a disposable camera, and it produced exactly that... disposables. :rolleyes

Thank you! I've used the disposables in the past. The Olympus was definitely worth the investment for the quality I get. :clap

Thanks for posting these! I like the 2nd to last one the best of the hawksbill. The way it's front legs are positioned is very cool. Great job! :thumb Where were these taken from? I tried looking at the thread but didn't see it... but then again it's pretty late.

Thanks, Mike! This one certainly was nice enough. Most of the hawksbills I meet are pretty shy.
