I have a little speedlight studio...i use the transmitter with my speedlights...through umbrella's but find that i am not getting catch lights in the eyes of my subjects? is it better to use just a difuser? I like how the umbrella spreads the light but i'd like catchlights too...any advice?

The corneal surface is a perfect spherical mirror, I don't understand how you do not have any catchlights. An umbrella should give fine catchlights with a speedlite I would think.
How about posting a few images and let us see them.

What angle and height are the umbrellas in relation to the subject? My guess is they are too high....

:agree - or too far left/right. Basically, too far from the camera-subject "line of sight".

you guys were right (shocker, I know) I went back and looked and the entire gallery and saw it. I will post a link to the gallery as I have not yet figured out how to post nice large, crisp images!

Only if you accept responsibility for all my obligations, liabilities, and faults. Believe me when I say this, "You really don't want to go there!":rofl
