Separate pages to load slideshows?

I understand that I can not upload a slideshow directly to the site and have it work but I am wondering if I can have a totally separate directory that I can FTP through my own client or one of your tools that I can use seperatly to add other pages since my DNS is pointed at the templated site...pretty much I just want a directory to do my own thing in...add different pages to the site with different look and feel.

Who is your domain through? My GoDaddy accounts offer free hosting space that I can FTP to. SmugMug does not have space or an interface for that but you can create a subdomain and point it at locations like GoDaddy that do.
