Where photography gets you

I got a real short notice call to photograph the President of our division, staff, and visitors today. He really wanted some press pics and internal communication pics for this event being held at our site. The communications manager's original photographer canceled and called me 'cause we are friends and she knows I dabble. 5 years working my tail off... 2 Masters degrees, several awards, etc. and my hobby with my camera gets me the closest I have ever been to having a one on one with our cheif.

Life is funny that way, huh. Gotta love it!!!

FYI - these shots were taken in the cafe with a few 100 people milling around. I am a stickler for getting rid of background clutter with DOF or a shovel, but I am learning that in these situation where you shoot events, you just have to be vigilant and creative.

True story....i was making a coffee the other day. Bloke walks up.

Gus : " I havnt seen you about the place...where do you work"

Bloke: " Inside...in one of the offices "

Gus : " yeah ?...which one "

Bloke: " the one down the end in the corner "

Gus : " turn it up mate ! ...thats the boss's office"

Bloke: " yeah...im the manager & have been since you started here 7 months ago "

Gus : " Dont get out much then 'eh ? "
