I realized that I've been a bit of a perfectionist lately, and I don't post many photos unless I think they are extra good. Well, I've been taking a lot of shots and I decided to just share some. They aren't perfect, but I think that's the point. You guys can't offer critiques to make me better if I never post anything. So here's some random shots form the last few weeks, feel free to give me pointers. :thumb

This is one SERIOUSLY old dog, like 19 years. My grandmother used to squint at me like that...

A blue lobster from the aquarium...

A cool bobcat from the zoo. No way to avoid the fencing. :pissed

Hi-speed panning!

Just a sunset...

And lastly an attempt at firelight shots, this was the only halfway sharp one of the fire attempts.

So that's it! Let me know what you think, and post your own random pics; it's good for the photographer's soul!

That's the kind of shot I really like... architectural quasi abstract.

Did we miss the meaning of your original post?? :dunno
You wanted a critque of these shots right ? :scratch
If I'm wrong (which I usually am) please disregard following :D

#1
Flat (bad lighting) not much detail in dogs coat.
to centered

#2
no problem here
nice color :thumb
good exp

#3
your right the fence kills it

#4
OK panning I think :dunno but the background is still to in focus.
I. E. I can make out and see many distracting elements in background

#5
Technically OK, but doesn't hold me (needs more drama)

#6
ROCKS :thumb :clap :lynnma
Lighting
Exp
expressions of people
doesn't look OOF to me
This is a keeper :thumbs

All of the above is JMHO. I have no cred. to fall back on, but it is my true personal feelings
Thank you for the opportunity to view and critque your images :thumbs

:thumb This is a goodie. Are they listening to a ghost story?
Nope, just watching sparks rise into the night sky. I like your explanation better, makes for a better story -

BFJR - I had 2 reasons for posting. First I wanted to push myself to post more, and not just the couple of "really good ones" I sometimes get. And yes, I wanted comments and critiques on them, so thanks for your input! That's what I was looking for.

The 2nd reson for the thread is to encourage OTHERS to do the same, that is, post more often and learn from them more. You folks posted some cool shots in here, and that's also what I wanted. And if those shots would never have been posted otherwise, then I'm smiling! :thumb
