While out shooting some cactus flowers the tripod went over. Camera landed on the front element of my 28-135 IS. Didn’t do anything to the rock it landed on, but I now have a quarter inch square scratch in the lens. Lens and IS still work, back focuses as well as ever:rofl.
Might be a good idea to send the lens out for repair, but I can’t seem to find the listing of repair centers. I live in Phoenix so the closest should be Irvine, CA. Has anyone dealt with them? Do you have a contact number? Address?
I kind of feel if I do this then maybe I should send body and other lenses also. Good idea? Now I was told that a good guess at repairing the lens would be around $300.00. What do you think they would charge to calibrate the body and other lenses? Other lenses: 17-40 and 100-300 f5.6 L.
Finial question. 100-300 L bought used. Have not like this lens. Always been soft. Do you think calibrating will help?
Thanks all
