Chased this small Ruby Meadowhawk around for a while yesterday. It seemed pretty cooperative. We started on this cone flower.

Then over to the hanger for my hummingbird feeder.

And then I tried it again....and it finally worked. I put my finger slowly infront of it, and behold, it climbed on board for a nice close up. First time this was ever successful. But hey, Brian does it all the time, so why not keep trying it.

Also found this Great Golden Digger Wasp. Tough to get him when its face isn't burried in the flower though.

Found a couple of butterflies too. First is a Common Wood Nymph.

And the second is a female Clouded Sulphur.

Hi Gary, I'm guessing you didn't offer your finger to the Wasp right ? :rofl

Congratulations on getting the DF to land on your finger,
bet you couldn't wipe the grin off your face when it landed.

I love the last butterfly and it's pretty pink outline around it's wings.

Your DF seems to be smiling in all three shots.
Nicely Done Gary :clap .... Skippy :D
