at last finished shooting this series,the ROYAL WALNUT MOTH,aka REGAL MOTH.
10 weeks over 2000 frames,
i got carried away. any way,these are one of the biggest,most amazing caterpillers on the planet.
first shot shows the caterpiller inside the egg 4 & then 1 day before hatching.
put match head in frame to show tiny size of newly hatched .
they walked constantly at this first instar so difficult to get very good shots[ especially without an mpe ]
hope you like them, they change colour and spines at each skin change.

Wonderful shots and amazing caterpillar- never seen any caterpillar quite that bizzare.

I had no idea caterpillars like this even existed LOL. Very nice photos. #5 looks like it's charging something off frame. And #2 is a great "head" shot for lack of better words.
