I an a wedding photographer and have all of my 2008 weddings together in a category: http://lifesharephoto.smugmug.com/Weddings_2008/
Then I have each client set up as a Subcategory, for example: The Asitos. And then in there I have multiple galleries that belong to the Asitos. I send my clients a link to their subcategory for their review. For example the Asito's subcategory link is : http://lifesharephoto.smugmug.com/Weddings_2008/501865
The customer can see "Weddings_2008" in the URL. A savvy customer could trim the /501865 from the URL and then see all of my clients galleries. I'd like to avoid this.
Is there a way to hide the Weddings_2008 Category from visitors, but when I log in it will show? If so I'd like to do this for other Categories too. Any ideas??? Thanks!

AFAIK, you can hide the category from appearing on, for example, the "categories" page, but if someone has a link to, or guesses a link to the categories page they can get there... I wouldn't swear by this, but that's my understanding of the situation. Sorry.

I have to imagine that I can add some code to hide access to category view or certain categories unless I'm logged in. Can some CSS gurus let me know if I'm dreaming? :D
Thanks!

Maybe I'm missing something here...
If you set all of the galleries in a category to unlisted, then the category will only show if you are logged in. But you're right - if a client guesses the gallery URL, they would be able to get in. I don't know any way to avoid that other than setting a password on the gallery.

I gotta think there's a CSS method to set a specific category to {display:none} when not logged in. And the client galleries have to be public. I don't want to password protect each gallery.
Any CSS wizards have an answer?
