Is it possible to remove the people from these photos, i waited most of the day to try and take them with no people in the shot but this is the best i could get.
It was a very moving day we sat for about an hour and hardly said a word we just could not believe what we had seen and heard about this place

Yes, but it will take some painstaking worth with the clone tool.

Where was this shot? Dachau? Auschitz? Bergen-Belsen? Ahhh.... Birkennau!
The people in the images can be cloned out if you enlarge the image on your monitor to 200% and go about it slowly. May be kind of tedious to do though.

I gave a quick stab at the first one. I increased the image size from your original size. I don't know what your ful size original is, but this is what about 30 minutes did. With a bit more careful work, this could be made to look excellent.

yes, use the clone stamp tool.
google for a tutorial if you don't know how to use it, or check the help file.
