a day at the zoo

So I spent a couple of hours at the Virginia Zoo today shooting some pictures and playing with the kittys...... Here are a couple of pictures for you guys. Any comments welcome. :):

good for u to get to the zoo! they're all good. often its hard to get the whole animal in frame if ya packing a single lens or if it isnt wide enough....so then you got to carefully choose how ya want to capture the animal. When i first started - i was very quick to "snap" shots - now i take considerable time.... fortunately i go a lot so i can "plan" my images. Anyway - I like the meerkat ( i hope that is what it is ) the best.
Keep up the good work and get back to the zoo OFTEN!!!!!!

Yeah it is a Meerkat... I do have two lenses but all of these were used using a 70-300 Quantaray. Other lense I have is the 18-55 that came with the Rebel XT but for the most part I couldn't get close enough to anything to really make use of the smaller guy. Only one that would of worked out of the 5 would of been the lion, and I actually shot that through bars so with the 18-55 they would of def. shown in the picture.

Yeah I will head to the zoo when I have time, however the Virginia Zoo isn't that great so I am going to try to find some other ones in the area... :):

Great shots! I particularly like the faces in the 1st and 3rd photos. - Stan
