Red Dragon

Here are a couple of what I think is a Red-Veined Darter I captured the other day, once again trying to improve on my first effort.

I know this next one is a butt shot, however the red veins are much cleared in this one.

yes it does look like a Red-Veined Darter .
backgrounds not the best to show off the dragon.
sometimes they only sit on the ground and you dont get a better chance.

This one also looks similar the Half-banded Toper.
Can't help but think Chopper Pilot when I see Dragonflies :rofl

LOvely shots - as Phil says not helped by the background but not much you can do about that.

Thanks all for the comments.

I followed this guy for about 100 yards and despite landing every few yards he refused to go on to the surrounding plants or grass but always landed on the path. If I got into a better shooting position off he went, just shy I guess.
