Some ugly bugs . . . but really nice shots! I'm amazed at the detail of those eyes. You should have some award winners in this batch!

Sorry I don't know the ID of that fly.. :scratch but I love the golden color of him!

Wonderful series Phil - got some lovely bugs there.
Just in case your not sure of some of the ID's
#1 Hoverfly Helophilus pendulus
#4 cluster fly Pollenia rudis
#7 I think these are damsel bugs
#9 Hoverfly Rhingia campestris.
