Help with 5/4 format

Hi,

I have some viedos in 5/4 format (720x576) coming out of a canon FS11. Is there any chance of them keeping their original resolution and not being converted into something that looks like 4/3 format?

Is this because the h.264 only accepts SD in 640x480 (4/3)?

Actually maybe I was wrong. By looking at it carefully it might be ok.

Could somebody confirm that I will not lose the aspect ratio in the conversion after uploading?

I have seen multiple aspect ratios convert fine. But, I cannot promise that yours will. All I can say is try it. Edit a small clip and upload it.

I have some personal stuff that I had to create a bit of padding to keep the ratio using Final Cut. But, that was some odd stuff from a very old camera. I ended up deleting it anyway.
