Unable to view most categories in Smugshot

Hi, I've searched the forum, but found nothing like this:

I've been trying to use Smugshot for a while now, both on an old iPhone and now on a 3G. I can successfully take shots and upload them, but only to very limited categories. It's a great app, but I can't upload images to anywhere useful.

For some reason, when I click to change my upload album, only two of my categories are displayed. One of them is "Other" which I believe is a default Smugmug category (?) that I've never used before. The other is where I store informational images for my Smugmug site (not my actual photos).

Has anyone else had this issue? Any ideas on what's going on? I've done quite a bit of customization to my Smugmug site, but I wouldn't think that would affect my categories being readable by Smugshot.

Thanks for the feedback Chad. We are very close to releasing an update that should fix a lot of the bugs like this. Your customization will not affect that, it sounds like a bug on our end.

I had this same problem, where I was unable to access some of my gallery categories. Turns out I was unable to access them since there weren't any galleries in the root level of the categories.

For instance, I organize most of my pictures into a General category with them further sub-divided by year (General => 2008 => Gallery A, General => 2007 => Gallery B, etc.). There are no galleries in the General category by themselves though, and therefore the General category was unaccessible in SmugShots. Once I added a Test gallery in the main General category, I had access to that category and all of the sub-categories in SmugShots.

The same problem occurs using the iPhone app Blossom. Thanks for figuring out how to get around it by putting a single gallery (not in a subcategory) in the category. Worked for me!

Once I added a Test gallery in the main General category, I had access to that category and all of the sub-categories in SmugShots.


Thanks Aaron. This helps !! I finally found out why I cannot change my upload album settings in the app. Great great advice :)
