So, um, weird stuff happened.

I had to restore my laptop, I'll admit I goofed up some software installs and I couldn't bring it back to life. Oh well, so it goes.

I restored it, formated the HD and everything. Saved all my pics, so no big deal. But when I went to re-install PS7, I lost about 3/4 of my filters, and I can no longer save to jpeg!

What happened? :dunno

Thanks all.

So let me ask a dumb question of my own. Before you try to save to jpeg, your file has been converted from 16-bit down to 8-bit?

And the mode is RGB and there are no layers right? Have you tried save for web?

Eh. I dunno waxy. I ORGINALLY had it working (um, somehow.....i have no idea) where I could drag my raws into PS, save to TIFF, and when needed, save to JPG. I could also save from raw directly to JPG. No I have NO jpg options at all.

Where do I go to find bits and stuff? I'm still playing with it....

Image ~> Mode

You have to have RGB and 8 Bit checked to do a "save as" a jpg.

BTW - no layers involved.

I just opened up a normall jpg and it gives me a million "save as" options. Gotta be a bit thing?

Still playing.....

How about Adobe Camera Raw v2.4 (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2701)?

I love a happy ending. :freaky BTW, Mike, I can save a layered document as a jpeg, it just flattens it before saving.

Not to fast sid.

That plug in seems to only work for CS. I have PS7. Is there any hope in the universe?

Ah, I think that's a problem. You should Google this one. I think Adobe used to charge a fee for PS7 RAW converters, and when CS came out they stopped supporting PS7. I think. As I said, try a Google.

I can't find anything. I think I'll end up having to buy capture.
