link for blog

I started a blog at wordpress and would like to add a link to a navbar that opens the existing blog. I managed to get the navbar up and have read the forum stuff on linking a blog, but can't seem to get the code right in order to make the navbar work. This is the code I used:

Please tell me what is wrong. I am trying to get this myself but keep running into snags.

I still want to do the drop down menus on my navbars, but I looked at it before and it seemed overwhelming. I'm going to try again as soon as I have a block of time. Can you send me the link please?

I'm also having difficulty linking to my blog on blogspot. I created a gallery and put the URL in the description by using the code indicated above, but it didn't work for me......do I need to put the code somewhere else?
