What do the stats for videos Mean?

For example, for one of my videos, I see the following:

Tiny: 5 | Thumb: 2 | Small: 2 | Medium: 9 | Large: 6 | XLarge: 3 | X2Large: 0 | X3Large: 0 | 320: 1 | 640: 4 | 960: 0 | 1280: 0 | Original: 0 | Hits: 32 | Bytes: 11991548

I'd guess that the counts for 'Tiny' and 'Thumb' are for the 'poster frame'. Is that true for 'Small', 'Medium', ... X3Large?

Are some of these counts 'downloads' and other 'views'? Or are those lumped together in each count?

Thanks.

Tiny and thumbs are for the thumbnail previews.

S M L should be for the larger size previews on the right in SmugMug viewing styles. The will vary depending on the size that the viewer loads.

We do not track the downloads. The video sizes you see are for the first views. Repeat views of the same load are not counted. So you do not get the "hey y'all come watch this" repeat plays. :D

I have essentially the same question, but since the stats have been upgraded since this post last year, is the answer different? For example, how can I tell from the stats below how many times someone actually clicked Play in the video?

Small: 12
Medium: 17
XLarge: 1
640: 2
Original: 5
Bandwidth: 158.99 MB

Does this mean 5 plays? Or 5 saves of video to PC? Or 2 plays @ 640, and 5 what? Or 5+2=7 plays with 5 @ "original" video resolution? Doesn't the video play at the same size for everyone?

Or should I just save the video from smugmug, look at the smugmug encoded file size, and divide the bandwidth by that size? Does the bandwidth now include multiple views by the same person?

Confusing to understand what is going on.

Is the video stats section of the stats beta fully functional? It currently shows that I have 0 views across the board for the last month and I am sure this is not the case. What's more, when I logged in yesterday the stats was reporting views and now they're gone. What's the deal?

I'm not sure it makes a distinction between plays and downloads. In order to play a video, it must be downloaded to your browser.

We can pass this along over to the engineer who is working on the beta stats.
Please provide a link to the gallery in question.

Shoot us an email with the details and we'll forward to the engineer for you: http://www.smugmug.com/help/emailreal
