Went out this afternoon looking for the Rookery, their has to be one around as they Egrets are plentiful in the area. Well normally anywise. Today the only one I saw all day was this friendly little guy.

What really amazes me about these birds is that they are so stable. I have found that as long as I move slow they have a pretty generous comfort zone, often allowing me to approach within a few feet of them without seeming nervous or disturbed.

While the Egrets were scarce today the Rails, Stilts and Avocets were thick. I will try and add a few shots of them here tomorrow.

If you want to see the rest of the shots of today's little Egret they can be found HERE (http://realdealphotography.smugmug.com/gallery/501927)

Outstanding shots Bobby :clap :clap . Very well exposed w/o any blow outs (not easy to do).

I started out shooting her with the exposure my camera meter called for then would check the histogram and the highlights and stop down 1/3. I finally hit it right for her at a full stop under the meters reading which really surprised me because as a general rule my D70 will meter 1/2 stop under exposed outside with no filters.

I agree with Harry on the exposure. These guys are tough to nail without blowing out parts of them. Ya done good :clap
