I once knew how to put a lock on a category but I can't remember and can't seem to find the answer anywhere so I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

You want to password protect a gallery? If so, see our help page here:

http://www.smugmug.com/help/private-albums

Go into the gallery you want to protect, and underneath an image, click on gallery tools, then customize gallery. Under Security & Privacy, put in your password, and a password hint if you like, then save your settings. There is not a way to lock a category; only galleries.
