The crowd I shot Saturday suggested to have a vampire shoot, so we just did it. Few teasers follows:
1. Light check with the male model (aka The Victim):

As you can see, three lights: one back/rim/hair, performing the "moon" role at f/4, one main up, providing the "ambient" at f/2.8 and one key with 10 degree grid, providing the focal point at f/4.
2. The play in progress, the victim being dragged away...:

3. Light's changed for the portrait session:

4. Semi-spoiler

This was the first time when I dragged the my ABs and Vagabond II power brick outdoors. The setup performed beautifully, I think I will start to use it outdoors more often.

No, nothing 18+ (vampries don't have a sex drive, as you know:-), although both my 16 and 19 yo daughters referred to the series as "very creepy" :wink

Did you "cool" down the color balance from typical flash color balance parameters?
Looking forward to seeing the rest of these shots too! WTG Nik!

Jim,
I did a lot of cooling indeed and also did some desaturaion (all in ACR, I don't PS drafts). I wanted to get realtively close to the idea of the moonlit scene, at least the way I imagine it :-) :wink
Looking forward to seeing the rest of these shots too! WTG Nik!
Me too:-) Thanks! :thumb

Very cool setup, I look forward to seeing a few of the finished images. It seems to be coming up on the time of the year that we start thinking about things that go bump in the night.

This is the reason why I'm doing every single assignment. Nikolai, you know exactly what you are doing. I wish to just walk away with just 1/3 of your tallent. Great set ups. I'm looking into buying a light kit next month. Nothing too major, but enough to light up the scene. Great work! Can't wait to see the finished results.

Thanks, man, you're too kind!
Just as a reminder: don't buy cheap lights. Build the long term solution. Bettr buy one good light and an umbrella rather than an el-cheapo kit of four with all the accesssories.

This is exactly what I'm suggesting you NOT to do. :deal
Look at AlienBees, 800wt (http://www.alienbees.com/b800.html). Light stands 10' min, better get them and umbrellas from amvona (http://www.amvona.com/?page=shop/subcat&category_id=8f6aed4ff8eee8d8f076b6f3840fd50a). Don't worry about radio triggers at this time, you can get them later, cords are totally fine for now.
