I shot my best friends mom's wedding a while back, and took some shots at my sister's ( i was actually in her's so I didn't get nearle as many as I would have liked), have thought about going into the field but it makes me nervous to think of having that much responsibility to capture such an important moment of a stranger's life soooo....thought maybe you guys could take a look and tell me if its something I might be good at....thanks!

#1 thru #3 are very, very good.

#4 is a bit over-exposed on the head.

The rest of them are good to very good.

You do need to learn how to mix/balance ambient with flash. Some of your shots, the background is very bright. Others, inside, the background is a bit more then just a touch dark. Need to learn/understand that the amount of ambient light, when using flash, is controlled by the shutter speed.

Bottom line, Yes, I think (for whatever that might be worth) this is something you might be good at. You certainly have an eye for the good shots and you are very creative with the PP - in a very good way!

thanks scott, i appreciate the feedback, maybe i posted too many pics in this thread....doesnt seem to be garnering many responses :scratch was hoping to hear from a few people, but i guess i will take what i can get

If your looking for more replies, I would do two things in the future.

I would split a post like this so there are less photos. One thread non-working and one thread working.

Finally, and most importantly. Make the photos smaller. You'd be surprised just how many people are still not using mega monitors on a frequent basis.

Scrolling around to see the photo is the major damper.

Love the expressions, posing, etc. Would be nice if the details in his black tux could've been brought out a bit, and the blown background on the left toned down.

As a final note - I've never seen a wedding dress with that combination of colors & trim, and the depth and placement of the red & trim is stunning. However, when I looked through your pics - I don't see the usual "bride and the whole dress in all their glory" shot. If you can get one of those, that would be a great addition.

There's a number of pics which have an easily corrected color-casting problem. If you take these pics, do an "auto-balance" on them, and then work the clarity, brightness, contrast, sharpness, and curves a bit - you can take a pic like this

Anyway, Syncmaster, the flickr links you posted seem to lead to the same pictures. Also, it's a summer weekend so some people may be out shooting or attending weddings, not here poring over photo threads. :)

Only thing I can add I think your sisters dress is stunning and I wish I could see a full length of it, especially the ones where she's sitting down with it fanned out. The dress is also blown out in the pictures where she is sitting.
All in all, nice shots & I say keep at it! :thumb
