I am using OSX leopard, and wordpress.

My embedded video will only play once or twice in safari, then wont play again. Firefox in osx doesnt have this issue. Windows browsers dont have this problem. The problem only exists in safari. I have tried this on more than one mac.

Here is the webpage:

any help is appreciated. I know smugmug is mac friiendly, so this surprises me.

Try playing my video a couple of times in safari, then quitting and coming back etc.

I figured it out. My gallery settings were set to share the link in the social settings, but I needed to allow external links in security. Safari would play the video once, then stop. All the other browsers would play the video anyway, Safari is the only browser that honored the security setting set by smugmug. This is a smugmug problem they should resolve.

I feel kinda stupid, but if anyone else comes up against this, I thought it would help.

summary:

Make sure both the security, and the social settings are set correctly with external links, and easy sharing.

Were you logged in or out while testing this? If you were logged in the video will play. If logged out, the browsers will honor the security settings as the security is actually coming from the server side.
