Me and Kelsey got out last week with Tracy and Richard for a few climbs, during one day when the rain let up a bit. Kelsey had two routes left on one wall to get information on for his guidebook, and we knew both of them were a touch beyond our skill, so after a bit of a warm-up on another wall, we slowly and cautiously began our siege-style ascent.:rofl
I finished one route before I started taking pictures, so I rigged myself to shoot Kelsey on the other, which was just a few feet over. He started the first pitch up a few grassy ledges and short faces to an anchor under a roof where the climbing got interesting.

Richard followed Kelsey to the belay, and Kelsey led out into the roofs above.

The holds are great here, but not so much ahead. Kelsey grins as he places some pro.

Checking things out before moving on...

Not feeling comfy yet, so he'll play with more gear. :D

A team of three climbers was climbing a route nearby. You can just make out one of them at a belay ledge near the top of this photo, with my wife Tracy in the foreground.

Kelsey continues moving through the first roof.

Alright... that should do well enough to move forward. :D

Another shot of the other climbers, on the same ledge as before, but a little closer in.

This roof had Kelsey stumped for a while. Check out his calves. :huh

Footwork is key

Eventually he had to cheat to get through the moves. :D We call this technique "French Free".

Meanwhile the other guys topped out on their climb.

Next Kelsey made it to the second roof on this pitch.

This one proved just as tough, so Kelsey aid climbed through it, using the fixed gear to help his ascent. My angle was limited by rock at this point, so I cleaned up and rapped off while Kelsey finished his climb and he and Richard did the same.

That's all I got from this trip! Hope you enjoyed another day of climbing! :D
