I couldn't get it to view a larger version without it being huge, though. :scratch the detail in the iris is stunning.

Yeah, I particularly like that one too. Took a long time post processing. I'd congratulate you if you guess the equipment that took that photo ( and all the others by the way ) :thumb

pffft, how on earth would I know what equipment you used? :rofl
seriously, I like to take photos, and while I may not be a tech-geek, I just know a good photo when I see one. :D
unless it's the picture of the camera in your gallery hehe

I completely agree with quality over tech, there's no way of telling how many $ are behind a photo. Anyway, even I was amazed at the sharpness of that photo, I think my camera never managed to focus so close ( old minolta p&s without macro ), and light was low, handheld.

David - Your gallery is alive with color. However, you'll probably get more useful information if you pick a particular image that you want to work on and ask for a critique on it.

There are a few ones that I can really point out which I feel like could be quite improved. What do you think of these:

Hi David,
I'm still relatively new to photography (1yr +3mnths) and as such am not really qualified for expert advice, but I know do what I like, and I can see you have a good eye for it :thumb . I like the variety in your shots, and your use of imagination. :clap
Keep it up, and keep sharing!
