Customizing categories

Hi All
I was wondering if there was anyway i can bulk move all my sport categories from the previous 4 years into one catagorie say called "Archived Sport 2004-2007 "which would make all the inside folders Subcategories.
It would help clean up my front page.

any help would be appreciated

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you want to do, but here are some ideas.

You can go into your control panel and simply rename an existing category to give it a new name. By doing that all, galleries or sub-categories in that category will now have a parent category with the new name.
You can use a tool like SmugBrowser to change the categorization of a whole bunch of galleries at once. So, you could change them all to be in a different category.

If these are multiple categories you have a problem.
The problem is that a sub-cat is tied to a category name. So creating a new
cat would require all sub-cats to also be created under the new cat. Each
gallery would then need to be changed under "customize gallery".
Renaming the one category will bring all the sub-cats with it though.

SmugBrowser would be the best and quickest way to set all the galleries to
the new cat and sub-cat. Dev has mentioned that in the future he would
like to add dragging sub-cats to different cats. Might bug him in the
SmugBrowser thread.:D
