I am lucky to have flora that attracks hummers in my Bckyrd
Spent alot of time watching their movements
Take many shots, throw 99% away :D

Equipment for this shot
D2Hs - still the cats meow in my book :thumb
300 f2.8 AFS
TC17e2
1 sb800 on camera commander w/homemade BB card
2 sb800 remote somewhere camera left w/homemade BB card

shot is handheld. I tried with mono but I'm quicker without it,
especially when it come to flight shots.

Oh yeah almost forgot:

Whole Mtn worth of praying & patience :rofl :rofl

Wow! Fabulous color, great sense of movement - wings slightly blurred but the rest of the bird is nice and sharp. I like the composition and the lack of distracting background elements. This is one to be proud of!

It's amazing when we capture what we think will be a pinnacle shot or image. You, my friend, have done just that! Congrats on a superb photograph!

Excellent.:bow
Had a funny thing happen about 6 weeks ago, was removing a dead bare branch that had fallen during a storm, and I'm about to toss it out of the yard, a Hummer landed on it lol!
Just sat there for a time..kinda different.

It's a war zone on our back porch(I love this time of year lol):lust
Have even had my hair fluffed by the rather frequent close flyby's.:ivar

Do I have any good pics of them?? Not yet sadly.
