These were with the siggy 120-300 and 2 extender taken at Fort Morgan in lower Alabama. Color mode was vivid on the D300 and auto WB. They were all in A mode and it went from 5.6 to 7.1 I think:rolleyes.

After using this beast of a lens for close to a month and now having put the extender through it's paces, I am very happy with this lens. The versatility is what I like. I have a great sports lens that I can shoot plays in the outfield and bring it back for plays at the plate without changing lenses. When I have great light, I can have 600 mm reach at 5.6. Low light, I have a 2.8 with 300 mm reach. I have done some quick portrait work with my niece and nephew and the backgrounds just melt away. If the shutterspeed is quick enough, handholding it is not a problem. Great pictures are possible with slow ss on a monopod. I give it two thumbs up.

John,
Have to agree that #1 has a great quality to it. The 3rd image of the GBH is interesting as well. Nicely done :clap

I need to get down to the Alabama bird trails.
