Is there an easy way to upload videos in 3gp format :scratch (my Motorola Razr2 creates 3gp videos).
The best way I found so far (without installing any software on my PC) is it to upload the video to Google Videos and download it back in MP4 format.
thank you

Try converting them using software before upload. I use MPEG Streamclip for most videos that need converting. www.squared5.com

I thought 3gp was supported in SM directly? In the wiki, it shows it as being supported. :scratch

I just tried uploading a 3gp video using the simple uploader and it wouldn't even select the file. I used olde faithful uploader and it worked, but only showed up as a still shot. :cry

.3gp is a smaller version of the Mpeg4 container format. The problem with container formats is not the format itself. It is the codecs it contains. We cannot support all codecs. Just because a container/format is listed, we cannot guarantee support. Conversion to correct the codec is the best solution.

nLink?
I'm having the same problem. I have the Samsung flipshot which uses the 3gp format for all of it's videos. I REEEEAAALLLY don't want to convert all of these. I just made the jump from flickr, and one of the big winning points for me was the higher limit for video clips. Flickr stops you at 90 seconds. Anyway, I found the link at http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/Video+Formats before I signed on. Soooo...is there support or not? I just got done trying the Simple uploader and it was no good.
Thanks, and here is the link agai:

Sorry guys. I have been really sick the last couple of days and not kept up with these like I should.
The only solution I can offer for you 3GP users is to convert them to a different format before upload. As I said before, the CODEC used is the problem. Converting them to h.264 with AAC audio usually fixes things right up.
The problem is that most of these phones are using a proprietary or unsupported codec that we simply cannot convert at this time.
MPEG Streamclip seems to work well:

There's a Windows and a Mac version.
Here are instructions on how to export the video from Streamclip.

Actually, I tried old faithful and it worked fine. It's a bit of a pain in the a@@ if you have very many videos, but it seems to do the trick.
