They are actually really cool! Could you please tell me what you are using in terms of equipment for each shot? Straight up macro lense? Extension tubes? Magic?

They were all taken with an MPE-65 lens that goes from 1:1 to 5:1 without add-ons. The DOF is obtained by focus stacking multiple shots taken at different focus points.

Ok, so I've heard of this lense and its only for Canon right? I'm guessing you used high manification?

And just for kicks, this stacking: is it a program that does this or does Photoshop do this?

These macro shots are really cool and I'd love to do something like this, even if it is of all the dead roaches in my place.

I love all of your macro shots.

Thanks again

mre info on focus stacking here http://www.wonderfulphotos.com/articles/macro/focus_stacking/
The prog is freeware but you do need a pic editing programme to clean up the image after.
Yes the lens is canon fit only but I think these shots were around 2:1 or smaller which you can do with a normal 1:1 macro lens and a full set of ext tubes (eg Kenko)

All the weeds in my garden are prickly green ordinary plants. I like the reaaally close ones. It's almost abstract and a lot like a painting.

Yes Brian they are wonderful and I can see what other people think about the MPE. The last shots I put on here with a spider was up to 4x1 I am not saying it was good cause I get the best shots from 1:1 & 2:1 and a reasonable shot at 3:1 if I am lucky. But you and Phil know much better what I am getting at.

Bob
