Hi -

I would like to be able display a message on the Video Lightbox page, below or to the side of the video box.

I want to provide the user with some instructions on what to do if the video gets choppy (i.e., select Web.... or click Pause to allow the video to cache a bit). I am afraid that people will be turned off if they don't know what is going on.

Note: Many of my videos typically default to IPOD/DVD, but the internet connection can't keep up. I am afarid that this will happen to my users.

Here is one of my videos: http://www.kirkpatrick.smugmug.com/gallery/5377627_Eg9Hn#334185783_aKv8w-A-LB

Any suggestions on how to customize the Video Lightbox screen to post such a message? I am comfortable doing customization, but I can't figure this one out.

Thanks,

Tom K.

I am not aware of any way to edit the lightbox at this time. Sorry.

You could embed the video into a description of another gallery and put your text in as HTML there. I have seen that done by another user.

That would also give you the chance to choose the display size if you are concerned about it.

I have inserted "text" on other screens by putting a small background image using code like the following:

/* Scroll Down graphic */
body.journal {
background-attachment:fixed;background-image:url(http://kirkpatrick.smugmug.com/photos/323591440_ewuos-O.jpg);
background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position: right bottom;
/* image is height 70 and width 89 */

The "image" is actually a jpg file containing text (created with Gimp) that users can read.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out the appropriate CSS element to
make the image appear somewhere on the Video Lightbox (but not on the Photo Lightbox). I would appreciate any ideas...

Thanks,

Tom Kirkpatrick

Check with the folks in the customization forum. I don't think that you can put anything in the lightbox, but they will know.
