They look pretty good to me, skimpilycladdesertmarauder. Personally, I'd feel safe buying from them. They do a ton of business, have good feedback, especially given their volume, and they've been around for a while.

What have you learned about the device itself? Is it reliable?

What have you learned about the device itself? Is it reliable? The more i look at everything the more i end up back at the 30 gig X drive. From what i can make out, its the only one that takes all cards...most wont accept xD card. 30 gig should hold about 15000 photos so that should give me 20 photos that are worth keeping.

:rofl I sure know that feeling. Do the company and the device itself check out? Be a bummer to have it fail.

I swore blind to keep away from ebay ....moth to the flame. The old saying "dont gamble what you cant afford to lose"

These things are tiny & will fit in a backpack well so i can D/Load on the hop.

Sounds cool. Here's a review (http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/xdrive-vp300.html) at Steve's Digicams.

You going to buy one with the hard drive already in, or are you going to install your own?

You know its a shame that Apple doesn't make a photographers version of the IPod. Those items look sexy but I wonder how reliable they are.
