Same here - great shot, those are tough to get! You have some terrific shots there, Jim. Looks like you were able to get up close to the show line, and they had the displays set up in the right place for the light. That's often the hardest part of shooting air shows - what works for the show line / crowd areas doesn't always work out for good light for photography.

I was looking at the rest of your site - you have some fine work there! I love your shot from the 2005 show, with the T-Birds taking off with the mountain in the background (that's Mt. Rainier, right?)

OK 4747 it is. The mountain is Mount Rainier and I got as close to the flight line as I could right up by the fence just north of the show center. arrived at 8:30 am and the show didn't start with flying until 11:00am and the Tbirds flew at I think just after 3:00. Thanks for the kind comments

The mountain is Mount Rainier...Dang! I thought the chopped top was MSH - You got really lucky with the weather to see Ranier so clearly, no? The few times I've visited Seattle/Tacoma I think it was clear maybe 10% of the time.

It must have been fairly humid to get that "4747" shot - love seeing the planes do that. I have lots of shots like that when they are in tight turns, but I have yet to see one in level flight like this in person. Cool stuff!

Actually it was even clearer at the last airshow in 2005. It was real cloudy in the am and there were still a lot of clouds around when the shot was taken but it cleared perfectly for the tbirds

from the 2005 show
