I also have to say that on my monitor, I had to really look at #1 closely. I thought it was a mannequin at first. The skin tone is so washed out. I really like the shot, it's very different. I see that she is very fair, but in #2 her skin tones look much more natural.

Love the treatments, great fun shots, looks like tomorrow should be a blast!

I'm off to a friends wedding tomorrow (no pay, will just take some shots for fun since she'll have her own photog but "gave me permission to bring my camera" lol). It's going to be a busy next several weeks though, after this weekend I have three wedding gigs in a row! then a couple weeks break and then 4 weddings in a row in September!!

gotta love weddings, so addictive :) and I always love seeing your work

Well...no pay isn't the end of the world ya know...

You will have license to be super creative without worrying with the "must haves" of wedding photography. It is a win/win for you if you look at it that way...and I predict you will walk away with some really fantastic and dynamic shots that the paid photog doesn't have time to get.

..but phooey on her for not hiring you!!!:D

Oh thats funny...you know more about light balance than most of us Jeff! Just gotta choose which color temp to go for and suffer...and I sympathize with you...I hate the yellow/green hair syndrome!

Can't fix everything. Our eyes naturally adjust to the plethora of Kelvin temps we see in every day light. The biggest factor (ok, two) IMO is making 1. skin tones pleasing and 2. A series of shots in the same context are consistent color-wise. I could put a blue filter on everything and it might look funny in the first, but after looking at a series the average person will adjust that the blue tint is what it's "supposed" to look like.

That said, if you can gel so the ambient renders as warm or warmer than your subject, I think that's the most ideal. What you've done here looks great to my eyes.

Can't wait to see the rest!!! I really do envy you being the second shooter with no expectations, and total freedom! You dog you! :D

Well my plan...if I remember it right...is to use auto WB for any of the shots taken from the balcony and /or back of the church. That might only be a few context type shots, but AWB seemed to handle the temps as well as anything else would.

I have a CWB reference stored in the camera that will be used for everything else.

I can only use flash for the aisle shots....procession/recession...and will have a CTO filter on the flash. The folks at "Sticky-Filters" sent me a set to try...and so I will be giving those a test drive tommorrow.

Hmmm...I have fresh info on the "primary shooter". Not hired, but a friend with a "little camera". My interpretation of my services today will be..."a friend with a big camera...who does do weddings...who got off work to be there...who has total freedom....and no expectations!!!". All I can say is that they were both SUPER relieved when I told them I was available....so :scratch

The brides younger sis is a photography major. She is in the wedding...and will have a camera nearby all day I am sure...

I spent a few minutes with her yesterday helping her to grab some outdoor shots of the two of them. I am not sure, but think she mainly shoots fine art type photos.

I am ready either way!...with my "big camera".:dunno
