Nice sunrise! Quite a lot of psychic distance from home to the city each day, eh? I've never really done the suburbs to city commute. I don't know if I'd like it. You seem to thrive on it.

The blown sky in the city shot bothers me. It's easy to tell that it isn't overcast in this shot because of the shadows. If the sky really is totally blown, well too bad. Else one of the blending techniques we've been working with might help.

thanks rutt - well, it comes down to choices, eh? yeah the sky was totally bright white, as the direction my camera was pointing is easterly down 42nd street... so i was shooting nearly into the rising sun ... 815am this morning or thereabouts. i shot it up a few different ways but the d.r. is just too much in that situation...

I like them both Andy.

The blown out sky doesn't bother me as the tulips are perfect.

What were you doing on your roof at 6:00 AM?

awesome work, andy... love the composition with the tulips. a shot with many contrasts you don't see everyday. only question is what's that thing in the background over the tulips... looks like some kind of eagle statue or something?

Nice ones Andy :thumb :thumb With Sunrises like that, it must be tough to leave home in the morning :dunno The tulips look really good. Yeah, a blue sky would have been nice but, as you point out with limited DR, you makes your choices and in this case I think you made the right one :clap

Steve

BTW, did you already pick up the 200mm F2.8?

Great shot Andy, I missed you by a few minutes as I was in the same spot this am on my way to the park. Now I don't feel bad about not having blue skies in my pics on such a beautiful day. Thnxs for showing us what can be done with a wide lens..

Nice shots.

That 10-22 is one fun lens isn't it?

How are you liking the 200 1.8? I'm guessing rather well since I see you're selling the 70-200.

Jealous I am.

So envious, talk like Yoda, I do.:D

Nice roof shot. It almost looks like it could've been shot in the Desert
Southwest.

I love the WA shot. The sky doesn't bother me so much either. My eye
is drawn immediately to the tulips. It's a nice one for sure.

What are you doing up on the roof at 6 a.m.???? :scratch

Such a contrast between the two settings. I don't remember that many flowers in the city when I was growing up...

Is that the Hudson in the background in the from my roof shot?
